Home to approximately 32,000 Arkansans (2000 Census), the Lower Sulphur watershed lies within the Red River Basin in Southwest Arkansas crossing into Texas.  The hydrologic unit code for this watershed is 11140302.  Upstream are the Sulphur Headwaters (Texas), and the White Oak Bayou (Texas).  The McKinney-Posten Bayous (11140201) are downstream.
