Home to approximately 62,000 Arkansans (2000 Census), the Upper Ouachita watershed lies within the Ouachita River Basin in Central Southwestern Arkansas.  The hydrologic unit code for this watershed is 08040102.  Upstream are two watersheds:  the Ouachita Headwaters (08040101), and the Little Missouri (08040103).  The Lower Ouachita-Smackover (08040201) is downstream.
