Lower Little River Watershed-based Management Plan

The Lower Little River Watershed-based Management Plan has been completed by the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) and has been sent to EPA for “acceptance.” EPA simply “accepts” the Plan. EPA does NOT “approve” the Plan, and that agency has absolutely no regulatory oversight over it or any projects landowners and other entities undertake on their property. ANRC submits the Plan to EPA because EPA (along with other federal and state agencies) provides funding to help implement watershed practices found in the Plan.

The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and FTN Associates sincerely appreciate the involvement of dozens of volunteers and numerous representatives of state and federal agencies who helped develop the Plan. Without the assistance and interest from farmers, ranchers, timberland owners, industrial representatives, state, municipal and county leaders, organizations, and employees of several natural resource agencies, the development of this Plan would have been extremely difficult.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission, Allen Brown, (501) 682‑1611; or email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Again, thanks so much to all the stakeholders who have been involved in this process.
